PADI Enriched Air Nitrox
The PADI Enriched Air Nitrox course teaches you how to safely dive using gas with a higher oxygen content than standard air. It’s one of the most practical specialty certifications — allowing longer no decompression limits, shorter surface intervals, and more efficient repetitive dives.

Certification
More time underwater. Less nitrogen exposure.
The PADI Enriched Air Nitrox course is one of the most useful specialty certifications for active divers. By using gas with a higher oxygen content, you reduce nitrogen absorption — helping you extend no decompression limits and shorten surface intervals.
It’s a simple change that can significantly improve comfort and efficiency, especially during repetitive dives or multi-day diving trips.

Understand the gas before planning the dive.
Unlike many specialty courses, Enriched Air Nitrox is primarily knowledge-based. The focus is on understanding oxygen exposure, gas planning, dive computer settings, and how to safely use enriched air before entering the water.
How the course works
-
01
Theory and gas concepts
~2–3 hoursLearn the fundamentals of enriched air diving, including oxygen exposure limits, maximum operating depth (MOD), equivalent air depth (EAD), and safe Nitrox dive planning.
-
02
Practical Nitrox session
~1 hourLearn how to analyze oxygen content in your tank, configure your dive computer for Nitrox, and safely prepare for enriched air dives.
-
03
Optional open water dive
OptionalIf desired, you can complete optional dives using Nitrox to apply what you learned in a real diving environment.

This course is perfect if…
- You want longer no decompression limits underwater
- You regularly do repetitive dives or multi-day dive trips
- You want shorter surface intervals between dives
- You want a practical certification that improves everyday diving
What you will gain
Longer bottom time
Reduce nitrogen absorption and extend your available no decompression limits underwater.
Shorter surface intervals
Spend less time waiting between dives and more time exploring underwater.
Safer gas awareness
Learn how to properly analyze tanks, manage oxygen exposure, and safely plan Nitrox dives.
More efficient repetitive dives
Nitrox is especially valuable for divers doing multiple dives over several consecutive days.
Nitrox reduces nitrogen absorption, allowing longer no decompression limits and shorter surface intervals. It’s especially useful for repetitive dives and multi-day diving trips.
Most modern dive computers and regulators are Nitrox-compatible. During the course, you’ll learn how to check your equipment and properly configure your dive computer.
Yes. When used correctly, Nitrox diving is very safe. The course teaches proper gas analysis, oxygen exposure management, and safe dive planning procedures.
