PADI Dry Suit Diver
The PADI Dry Suit Diver course allows you to comfortably explore colder environments and extend your diving beyond warm water conditions. Learn how to manage buoyancy, stay insulated underwater, and confidently dive using a completely different equipment system.
What you need

Warm, controlled, and comfortable underwater.
Dry suit diving is different from traditional wetsuit diving. Instead of allowing water inside the suit, a dry suit keeps you insulated using air and thermal layers — helping you stay warm and comfortable in colder environments.
This course focuses on understanding the equipment, controlling buoyancy, and building confidence with a completely different diving configuration.

Understand the system before entering the water.
The course includes both theory and practical training. You’ll learn how dry suits function, how buoyancy changes while using one, and how to safely manage positioning and comfort underwater before progressing into open water dives.
How the course works
-
01
Equipment introduction and theory
~2 hoursLearn how dry suits work, including suit types, thermal undergarments, inflation and exhaust valves, weighting, and pre-dive preparation before entering the water.
-
02
Confined water training
~half dayPractice buoyancy control, air management inside the suit, trim, proper weighting, and basic problem handling techniques in a controlled environment.
-
03
Open water dives
Minimum 2 divesApply your skills in open water while improving buoyancy, practicing controlled ascents and descents, and building confidence diving in colder conditions.

This course is perfect if…
- You want to dive comfortably in colder water environments
- You plan to dive year-round instead of only in warm conditions
- You want better thermal protection and comfort underwater
- You are interested in expanding your diving locations and conditions
What you will gain
Comfort in cold water
Stay warm and insulated during dives in colder environments and challenging conditions.
Expanded diving opportunities
Access more dive sites and extend your diving season beyond warm water conditions.
Improved buoyancy control
Managing buoyancy with a dry suit develops better awareness, trim, and underwater positioning.
Confidence with new equipment
Learn how to safely use, manage, and maintain a dry suit system underwater.
No. We provide rental dry suits during training and help you find the correct fit and weighting setup for comfort and buoyancy control underwater.
A wetsuit allows water inside the suit while your body warms it for insulation. A dry suit keeps you completely dry and insulated using air and thermal layers.
Yes. The course is specifically designed to prepare divers for cold water diving through proper buoyancy control, suit management, and safe diving procedures.
