Prepare for Iceland's cold-water conditions
Silfra is a cold-water dive conducted year-round in dry suits. Water temperatures remain between approximately 2°C and 4°C (35°F–39°F).
Although the dry suit keeps you dry, Icelandic weather can still be physically demanding. Wind, snow, and rapidly changing weather conditions are common, particularly during winter months.
If you have limited dry suit experience, please inform us in advance. Recent dry suit diving experience is strongly recommended.
To ensure the best possible experience:
- Stay hydrated
- Eat properly before arrival
- Avoid alcohol before diving
- Get a good night’s rest before your dive day
